History
Source evaluation, causation, significance and the disciplined essay structure that separates a strong answer from a well-informed one.
Humanities & Social Sciences
History, Geography, Psychology, Sociology, Business Studies and Economics — taught one-to-one, with the analysis and essay craft these subjects genuinely test.
Subjects we support
Subject availability depends on tutor availability at the time of enquiry. We confirm a genuine specialist match before lessons begin — we would rather say no than place your child with the wrong tutor.
Source evaluation, causation, significance and the disciplined essay structure that separates a strong answer from a well-informed one.
Physical and human topics, case study recall, fieldwork enquiry and the data skills that appear across every paper.
Studies, theories and research methods, with careful attention to AO2 application and the evaluation marks students most often miss.
Perspectives, key thinkers and contemporary evidence, applied to essay questions with a clear, sustained argument.
Case-study analysis, calculations, decision-making and the balanced judgement that higher-tariff questions demand.
Diagrams drawn accurately, chains of reasoning developed fully, and evaluation that weighs rather than lists.
Analytical thinking
In these subjects, marks are awarded for judgement. Students who can recite a case study but not apply it are the ones who plateau in the middle of the mark scheme.
One-to-one lessons give tutors the space to interrogate a student's thinking: why that cause mattered most, what the evidence really shows, which counter-argument is strongest. It is slow, deliberate work, and it changes results.

Essay writing & exam confidence
Every board rewards a slightly different shape of answer. Tutors teach the structure that fits your child's specification and rehearse it until planning takes two minutes rather than ten.
By the time exams arrive, students have written enough marked responses under timed conditions that the paper feels familiar — which is where exam confidence actually comes from.

Personalised tutoring
Case studies, key studies, thinkers and terminology are organised into something memorable rather than endless.
Students learn to answer the question asked — taking a position and sustaining it through the essay.
The marks most often lost are evaluative. We teach students to weigh evidence, not simply present both sides.
Essays are planned and written to exam timings, then marked against the board's assessment objectives.
