Every tutor joining Bianca Tutoring Services goes through a thoughtful selection process designed to assess academic ability, communication, professionalism and teaching quality — before they ever work with a student.
Boutique, not a marketplace
Bianca Tutoring Services does not operate like a large tutoring marketplace. We do not list hundreds of profiles or ask families to scroll through names and hope for the best.
Instead, tutors are selected individually and students are then personally matched based on their needs, subject, level, availability and learning goals. Every introduction is made with intention.
Our focus is quality over quantity. We would rather maintain a small, trusted network of excellent tutors than compromise on the standard families expect from us.

The selection process
A clear, consistent process that helps us identify tutors who combine academic strength with the personal qualities families value.
Tutors share a detailed picture of their background so we can understand whether they are a potential fit from the outset.
We review academic achievement and subject knowledge to confirm tutors have the depth required to teach their chosen subjects confidently. Tutors have demonstrated strong achievement in the subjects they teach — at least a grade 8 at GCSE level, and a minimum of an A grade for A-Level subjects.
Shortlisted tutors complete a structured interview that goes far beyond subject knowledge, looking at how they will work with families.
Tutors deliver a short teaching demonstration so we can see, first-hand, how they explain ideas and structure a lesson.
All tutors are DBS-checked before teaching with us. Before tutors begin working with students, we complete the required checks and documentation and make our safeguarding expectations clear.
Selection is not the end of the process. We expect tutors to maintain high standards in every interaction and every lesson.
What we look for
Academic ability is essential, but it is only the starting point. These are the qualities that define the tutors we choose to work with.
Strong subject knowledge and a proven record of academic achievement in the subjects they teach, so students learn from someone who truly understands the material.
The ability to explain concepts calmly and clearly in a way that students genuinely understand, not just memorise.
Patient, encouraging tutors who help students become more independent learners and believe in their own ability.
Reliable, respectful and organised tutors who communicate thoughtfully with families and take their role seriously.
A willingness to build a long-term relationship with a student, providing steady support week after week.
Lessons that are interactive, supportive and adapted to the individual student rather than one-size-fits-all.
Our tutors
Our tutors are typically high-achieving university students and graduates with strong academic backgrounds and tutoring experience. They bring both subject expertise and the recent experience of succeeding in the same exams their students are preparing for.
Tutor availability varies throughout the year, and every match is made individually. We do not publish a browsable directory because the right tutor for one student may not be the right tutor for another.
Personal matching
Selecting excellent tutors is only one part of the service. The other is matching each student with the tutor best suited to them.
Every student is personally matched based on a range of factors — from subject and exam board to confidence, personality and availability. That is why families are not simply given a list of tutors to choose from.
